Castell-y-Bwch Country Pub & Restaurant
The Classic Country Pub about the castell

The Castell-y-Bwch (‘Buck’s Castle’) is a family-run pub and restaurant situated in the rural area of Henllys, Cwmbrân. This traditional country pub promises a warm, homely atmosphere where all are welcome and food is served all day.

The Castell is managed by Bev and Bill. You will no doubt see Bev around the Castell or in the fields nearby tending to her horses. Bill can usually be found maintaining the Castell grounds so be sure to stop and say hello.

Castell-y-Bwch Rear Garden
Beautiful Outside, Cosy Inside The Castell Experience

The Castell is blessed with beautiful panoramic views such as Twmbarlwm (known locally as ‘The Twmp’). On a nice day it’s a pleasure to sit in the gardens and take advantage of the stunning natural landscape surrounding the Castell.

Inside, customers are treated to all of the character and charm expected of a country pub. This includes traditional wood beams, log fire, good affordable food, guest ales and, of course, a warm friendly welcome.

Enjoyable & Memorable why visit the castell

The aim for Bev and the Castell-y-Bwch staff is to provide customers with an enjoyable and memorable experience. Bev is well placed to oversee this with 25 years of experience, managing establishments such as The King’s Arms in Abergavenny and The Angel Hotel, Caerleon.

We want our customers to leave looking forward to their next visit. We are proud and fortunate to be surrounded by so much natural beauty and have tried to create a warm, cosy atmosphere inside to match.
